Inspired by Charice Pempengco

I cannot describe how I first heard Charice sing on Glee. She has a voice that will literally make you cry for some reason. I think it might be the resonation with brain wave or something but yes, she has the MAGIC. She first appeared on Glee in the early episode of season 2 and covered Beyonce’s Listen with such power and emotions. I have to link you to it.
And then I kinda forgot about her for a while until I recently dug out this video, which absolutely blew me away and the only response I could give was WOW WOW and WOW!!!! So does anyone else that has heard her sing.
Even David Foster was like OMG, this girl is incredible when Charice absolutely aced those high pitches. I am so enchanted by her voice and even more inspired by this only 19-year-old girl who has come a long way from a small town in Philippines, barely escaped from her violent father and was raised alone by her mother. The most thing I love about her is that she possesses such fine qualities as modesty and honesty in real life but when she sings, she has the ability to make the whole world listen to her. She started singing and attending singing contests when she was only four after being taught some basic singing techniques by her mom. The girl’s absolutely got a gift and she knows how to take care of it too. Thanks to YouTube, she made it to a wider audience and was invited to Ellen DeGeneres’ Show in 2007 when she was only 15. After her first successful debut in the States, she held several other performances all over the nation until she hit Oprah’s “World’s Smartest Kids”. (This might not be the one but is also good enough)
I guess you could compare her to Justin Bieber who also began his wonders from YouTube but as far as I remember, there was never an Asian like Charice who has achieved such high prestige in the western world. And she absolutely deserves all of it. After her impeccable performances on Oprah, who later connected her with David Foster, she officially started her career in the States, the empire of entertainment. The most inspiring part of this story is that even Charice is super gifted, she wouldn’t have made this far if she ever stopped making effort. Her high dedication to singing wins her all respect and credits, and more precisely, the opportunities and help from other people. I believe if you truly want to do something, the whole world is ready to help you. As the saying goes, “Luck favors those who work hard.” Go Charice!!!

oh my God its not easy to enter in this industry i’m dying of nervousness for her it makes me smile when you say “empire of entertainment” its only entertainment everything come and go but i want the world to know that everything is possible i believe that through prayer prayer prayer prayer prayer and prayer she will overcome this difficulties in Gods time in the right way i will call Charice dreamer here comes the dreamer Charice
She’s a dreamer indeed! And I’m so proud that her dreams have come true!!
Charice has worked hard since she was a little child to help her Mom and brother. At times, the only income they had was from her singing contest winnings. She was passed over by the Philippine entertainment industry and was becoming discouraged when Falsevoice put her appearance on Koreas “Star King” on You Tube. The rest is history. The past 4 years she has been busy recording and promoting in the US and around the world.
Charice deserves all the acclaim she has received, may she stay healthy and happy and enjoy a long successful career!
Glad to know there are so many people out there inspired by this girl!!
i very seldom watch showbiz news so i barely get updated about the entertainment industry. i learned about charice through news watch. she didn’t caught my attention at first. seen some of her guesting in local talk shows, but still didn’t bother. we have SO MANY VERY GOOD filipina singers so i thought she couldn’t be more different.
came along this MTV of Pyramid, and i said “whoa! is that charice?!” i couldn’t help but be proud of her as a filipino. so charice-pyramid caught my attention then i googled and youtubed… surprisingly, music video of pyramid on youtube is blocked in the philippines, but the studio version isn’t. i youtube further and saw charice first appearance on korea’s star king in webscribe’s account. WOW! just WOW! since webscribes’ account was arranged very well, i was able to watch charice’s road to the oprah winfrey show followed by her numerous videos on youtube.
i don’t have words to describe the feeling I get when I listen to the singing voice ofcharice. when i listen to her deep round big black voice I am just stunned. btw, it used to be one of our bonding moments in the family, watching charice youtube videos. Guess we already watched all.. hehe.
I admired her even more when I learned that at age seven, joining singing contests was already her bread & butter so TO WIN is a must. Dang watching her life story sure got me to tears, especially her moments of interview where she tackled the most painful experiences and all the struggles she has to go through.
Charice is already known worldwide, but there are still some who does not acknowledge her & her talent. Debate not needed whether they like her, her music alone or not. You totally CAN’T reason out with people who chose to close their ears, their mind & their heart. To each his own.
Exactly. She’s like the gold that glitters and sooner or later she would be acknowledged. It happened to me as well when I first learnt about Charice on Glee I was like well, she could sing and I was impressed don’t get me wrong but just as you said, there’re so many good out there. It’s not until I saw her tour with David Foster that I was so moved by her voice not only because of her techniques but also that the emotions she carried in her voice was really touching! Then I wikied her and knew more about her childhood life and all the difficulties she underwent, which impressed me even more! She’s definitely someone that we Asians can take pride in!!
